The Hudson Valley serves as our every day inspiration

The Hudson Valley is a magical place comprised of rolling farmland, historical estates, quaint villages, and the bucolic Catskill Mountains. The region extends from the confluence of the Mohawk and Hudson Rivers near Troy to the northern border of New York City.

It’s no wonder that the area is a UNESCO World Heritage site and the inspiration for the first American art movement. The Hudson River School was a mid-19th-century American art movement that emphasized the beauty and grandeur of the American landscape, particularly in the Hudson River Valley.

Growing up in this region gave us an appreciation for all its natural beauty, local flavor, and historical significance, and it has shaped Hortus Home’s aesthetic.

Hortus Home is a place of beauty, a destination for unique goods and services, and a celebration of the seasons.

“All that is within me cries out to go back to my home on the Hudson River”

- Franklin D. Roosevelt
